The incident, which occurred on July 5, 2025, raised alarm after the father accused his daughter, a secondary school student in Form 2, of being involved in an inappropriate relationship with a 17-year-old male.
Instead of reporting the matter to authorities or seeking professional guidance, the man took a drastic step that shocked both the local community and child rights advocates.

This case has reignited discussions on the importance of child protection laws, the need to educate communities about the legal rights of minors, and the dangers of normalizing harmful practices under cultural or personal justifications.
Authorities and child advocacy groups continue to emphasize that health, education, and safety must be prioritized for every child, regardless of gender or background. Cases such as this underline the urgency of strengthening rural awareness campaigns and ensuring parents understand their legal responsibilities.
